MetroWaxx— Locally & Female-Owned

We are a local waxing business that formed its roots in Johnston, Iowa back in 2005. Since then, we have grown to three additional locations in Des Moines, West Des Moines and Ankeny. We are woman-owned by a highly experienced career waxer in the esthetic/cosmetology industry, who coordinates all training and holds our waxers to high standards.

At MetroWaxx, we offer an 8-week intensive waxing program, so we do not allow our waxers to wax our clients fresh outta school. We also encourage all of our employees to further their education with the latest in waxing trends and techniques. Our waxers have a choice of waxes to use in their service & they have been trained on the “why” of which choice of wax that they use. This process of onboarding staff has served us well, as we were named Des Moines Cityview’s “Best Local Waxing Salon” of 2025 and have won this award for 9 years straight!

Jordanna
Owner/Trainer

Jordanna built MetroWaxx from the ground up as a women owned Iowa company with the one goal of providing "the best wax ever". She is proud of her business and has grown it with many great team members. Jordanna personally oversees the training of each waxer to assure they can perform the latest techniques to give MetroWaxx' s clients a premium service. Jordanna also keeps up with the latest in the waxing industry, both domestically and internationally, and brings this training in house as needed. If she can ever get away, Jordanna likes to travel with her husband to our great national parks. All of us greatly appreciate Jordanna's hard work and the dedication she has for each team member as well as MetroWaxx. Jordanna is a licensed esthetician & cosmetologist and established MetroWaxx in 2005.
