MetroWaxx— Locally & Female-Owned

We are a local waxing business that formed its roots in Johnston, Iowa back in 2005. Since then, we have grown to two additional locations in both Des Moines and Ankeny. We are woman-owned by a highly experienced career waxer in the esthetic/cosmetology industry, who coordinates all training and holds our waxers to high standards.

At MetroWaxx, we offer an 8-week intensive waxing program, so we do not allow our waxers to wax our clients fresh outta school. We also encourage all of our employees to further their education with the latest in waxing trends and techniques. Our waxers have a choice of waxes to use in their service & they have been trained on the “why” of which choice of wax that they use. This process of onboarding staff has served us well, as we were named Des Moines Cityview’s “Best Local Waxing Salon” of 2023 and have won this award for 8 years straight!

Jordanna
Owner/Trainer

Jordanna lives at MetroWaxx as she is the loyal leader of this great team. Metrowaxx began in Johnston, Iowa, in 2005. Created by Jordanna, she knew she could offer something better, the best wax ever. She is proud of her business and has grown it with many great team members. Jordanna personally trains each waxer to provide the best wax ever. If she can't be on a beach -- traveling, hiking, and yoga are all things she enjoys beyond waxing. All of us greatly appreciate Jordanna's hard work and the dedication she has for each team member as well as MetroWaxx. Jordanna is a licensed esthetician & cosmetologist and established MetroWaxx in 2005.
